MEET GERRET

Becoming a therapist wasn’t a decision I made overnight; it was shaped by my own life experiences, struggles, and a desire to understand myself and others. Growing up, I faced emotional and psychological challenges and lacked the tools to navigate them. There were times I felt isolated and misunderstood, wishing for guidance through those moments. As an adult, therapy became a transformative tool for self-discovery, healing, and growth. It reshaped how I viewed myself and the world, and it was then I realized I wanted to offer others the same healing I had received.

In addition to my personal experiences, I have a deep fascination with human behavior—how we think, form relationships, and navigate life’s complexities. This curiosity fuels my commitment to integrating empathy and evidence-based techniques in my work.

I also recognize the gaps in the mental health field and aim to help fill them. Whether addressing a lack of resources for certain populations or offering a relatable and practical therapeutic approach, I strive to make therapy more accessible and effective.

Each day, I am honored to witness the resilience of my clients. Being part of their journey and seeing them grow is a privilege. I believe therapy is about empowering people to reclaim their lives and live with intention, and this belief drives my passion for the work.

WHO I HELP?

My own journey gives me empathy for those who feel lost, stuck, or overwhelmed by life’s challenges. I’ve learned that healing isn’t linear but requires patience, understanding, and introspection. As a therapist, I create a safe space for individuals to explore their struggles and realize growth, even in difficult times. I’m open to working with anyone who feels I can be of assistance.

In therapy with me, your thoughts, feelings, and experiences will be respected and valued. I believe everyone has the potential for growth and healing, and I work with you to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where we can explore the issues that matter to you.

From the start, I will listen closely to your story, collaborating with you to understand your challenges and strengths. Together, we’ll work toward shaping the life you want. Whether addressing anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, or engaging in general self-exploration, I’ll tailor our work to your unique needs.

You can expect a warm, compassionate approach where your pace is respected. I may integrate cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, somatic techniques, and narrative therapy to help you build insights, healthier coping mechanisms, and greater control over your thoughts and behaviors. Throughout, I am committed to creating a space built on trust, respect, and confidentiality.

When I am not at AMW then you will find me?

I love live music, spending time with friends, and enjoying outdoor activities like snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking. I’m also always on the lookout for a good binge-worthy TV show.
